We finally recorded the MONA LISA OVERDRIVE cd - entitled "Picknick At Bikini" - with Jesse van Ruller on Guitar, Hans van Oosterhout on drums and Arno Krijger on Hammond organ. On september 18th a release party will be held at Dizzy, Rotterdam. Be there!

This year I have the honour of putting together a program for the Jazz International Festival that will be held on september 21-23 in de Doelen, Rotterdam. I will play there with Lievestro 6 on the 21st, and with Harmen Fraanje, Oliver Bernd Steidle (drums - Der Rote Bereich) and Nils Wogram (trombone) on sunday the 23rd. http://www.jazzinternational.nl/

In September 2007 I will start teaching at the Conservatory of Rotterdam. The team of bass teachers, there, will then consist of Jeroen Vierdag, Marius Beets, Pieter Douma and myself.

Playing with Arno (Krijger) proved to be very exciting! We therefore will record a cd by the end of may/beginning of june. Name of this particular band (with, besides Arno and myself, Hans van Oosterhout on drums and Jesse van Ruller on guitar) is MONA LISA OVERDRIVE.
A cd-release party is to be held in Jazz Cafe Dizzy, Rotterdam, in the beginning of july.

During the new season (2006/2007), every two months we (Hans, Harmen and myself) will host a wednesday evening at Dizzy, Rotterdam, starting on the 25th of october (however with Arno Krijger on Hammond, this time). Each of these nights we will be joined by one of our favorite players. On that first occasion it will be Jesse van Ruller joining us.

After winning the Deloitte Jazz Award, I finished writing the tunes we - me and the other members of my band - ended up recording in july 2005 during a three-day session. The cd was officialy released on march 1st 2006 at the BIMhuis in Amsterdam. The cover-foto is made by Jan Schrijver, founder of Gsus sindustries; he also did the lay out.
